And had Allah known any good in them, He would have made them to hear and (even) if He had made them to hear they would have turned back and they would have been of those who keep away.

Allah (SWT) knows all that is going on in human hearts/minds 3:11 9, 33:51, 50:16 because He encompasses everything. 4:126.

And guard yourselves against an affliction which will not fall exclusively on those who are unjust among you, and know that Allah is severe in requiting.

Muslims are to propagate Islam 3:104 and 110. If they fail to do so, people will be deprived of right guidance and will get involved in sinful deeds for which they will be punished. The Muslims too will be involved in the punishment for not executing their duty, which too is a sin. This involvement of Muslims in punishments is seen all over the world.

8-26

It was because of the help of Allah (SWT) that Muslims had become a very strong group during the period of prophet Muhamed (PBH). They are therefore, ordered not to betray the trust put in them by Allah (SWT). His messenger (PBH) and others just for the sake of wealth and children which are a source of testing them. If they pass this test of worldly temptations then Allah (SWT) will give them a great reward.

O you who believe! if you fear Allah He will assign to you (the power of) distinction (between right and wrong) and will wipe off from you (the ill effects of) your evils and protectively forgive you, and Allah is the Possessor of great grace.

The power of distinction between right and wrong is granted and sins forgiven if we believe in Allah (SWT), fear Him and act accordingly .

8-30

Enemies of Prophet Muhammed (PBH) had planned to imprison him or kill him or send him out of Mecca but Allah (SWT), Who is the Best of planners, also planned and saved him

8-31

The infidels say that they can also speak on topics dealt within the Quran and challenge for punishment. They deserve punishment for all their sinful acts but Allah (SWT) did not punish them because prophet Muhamed (PBH) was present among them and He may not punish them if they ask for His protective forgiveness.

And what (reason) have they that Allah should not punish them, when they hinder (people) from (visiting) the Sacred Mosque though they are not its guardians? Its guardians are only those who guard (against evil), but the majority of them does not know.

8-36

Those who do not believe, certainly spend their wealth to hinder (people) from the way of Allah, so they will (continue to) spend it, then it will become (a cause of) regret for them, then they will be overcome and those who did not believe will be gathered towards hell,

Infidels spend their wealth to stop people from the path of Allah (SWT) they will regret having done this when they will be punished in hell

8-38

Say to those who do not believe, if they desist then that which has passed will be protectively forgiven to them but if they repeat, then what happened to the ancient has already passed (as history and should serve as a warning).

If the infidels desist they will he forgiven, if they do not then they will be punished. Muslims were ordered to fight them to bring an end to their persecution and to establish Islam and in this effort of theirs, as in all other affairs, they had the Excellent guardianship and help of Allah (SWT).
