7-40
Those who deny Our signs and (turn away) from them considering themselves great, the gates of the sky will certainly not be opened for them and they will not enter the garden until the camel passes the eye of the needle, and thus do We reward the criminals.
Indicates that the paradise is beyond the earth, some where in the sky, believers will reside in the pleasant environment therein expressing their gratitude to Allah (SWT) whereas the infidels will be in hell.
7-44
And the inhabitants of the garden will call out to the inhabitants of the fire (saying) that, “”We have found that which our Fosterer promised us, to be true, so have you (too) found that which your Fosterer promised you, to be true?”” They will say, “”Yes.”” Then an announcer will announce among them that: “”Curse of Allah is on the unjust,
There will be communication between the inhabitants of paradise and hell.
7-46
And between them (there will be) a veil, and on the heights (from where one can recognise), there will be men who will recognise everyone by their marks and they will call out to the inhabitants of the garden (saying) that, “”Peace be on you all.”” They would not have (yet) entered it though they would be in the hope (of entering it).
It is stated that between them there will be ‘Hijaab’ translated as a ‘veil’. This word has been used for a curtain of cloth 33:55, it has been used for the earth which comes between us
7-47
And when their eyes will turn towards the inhabitants of the fire, they will say, “”Our Fosterer! do not place us with the unjust people.”” (R 5)
and the sun after the sunset 38:32 and for a veil which is invisible 17:45. In view of this we do not know what type of a partition will be there between hell and paradise. Is this partition a wall mentioned in 57:13 inside of which there will be mercy and on the outer side punishment? We have furnaces which are heated to hundreds of degrees but the temperature is not felt outside due to heat insulating material used in the walls. The partition between hell and paradise might be of a perfect insulating material.
7-48
And the inhabitants of the heights (from where one can recognise), will call out to the men whom they would recognise by their marks, saying, “”Your collections (hoardings) and that in which you considered yourselves great, have not saved you (from the punishment).””
We are able to see and talk to people residing at distant places on earth and also view many heavenly bodies quite closely through man-made satellites. It is quite possible that there will be some people expecting to be sent to paradise, but before entering it they may be located at such high places, like those of satellites, from where they could recognise and talk to their contemporary inhabitants of paradise and hell. These people could also be located on the high, insulating wall between paradise and hell.
7-50
And the inhabitants of the fire will call out to the inhabitants of the garden (saying) that, “”Pour out on us water or (something) of that which Allah has provided you.”” They will say, “”Allah has certainly forbidden both (the things) for the infidels,
It appears that giving of water and food by the inhabitants of paradise to the inmates of hell will be possible but they will be refused.
7-52
And We have indeed bestowed them with a book which We have explained in detail on (the basis of) knowledge, a guide and a mercy for a people who believe.
The Quran is explained on the basis of knowledge and it is a guide and a mercy for the believers in the sense that it makes their present life peaceful and guides them to paradise.
7-53
Do they wait for anything else than the fulfillment (of the promise made in the book)? The day its fulfillment comes, those who had forgotten it earlier will say, “”Messengers of our Fosterer had indeed come with the truth. So are there any mediators for us, that they may mediate for us or could we be sent back so that we may do something other than that which we used to do?”” They have indeed caused loss to themselves and that which they used to forge has gone away from them. (R 6)
On the day of resurrection the infidels will recollect that Allah (SWT) had sent His messengers warning them of the truth of this day and they will regret.
7-54
Your Fosterer is certainly Allah Who created the skies and the earth in six periods, then He set the balance on the throne (of the universe) {1}. He makes the night to cover the day, which (i.e. the day) seeks the (night) rapidly (in succession). And the sun and the moon and the stars are compelled to follow His command. Is not His the creation and the command? Blessed be Allah the Fosterer of the worlds.
Our Fosterer is Allah (SWT) Who created the heavenly bodies and Who has layed down laws for their peaceful existence which we call ‘The laws of nature’. Every nation has a capital from where orders are issued and affairs managed. The ‘Arsh’ appears to be the capital of the Universe: Following is the summary of verses of the Quran on the topic of ‘Arsh’ translated as ‘Throne’ which signifies ‘Sovereign Power’.1) Before the creation of the skies and the earth ‘Arsh’ was on a fluid 11:6 (This may refer to the plasmic state of matter before the ‘Big Bang’). 2) After the creation of the skies and the earth balance was set on ‘Arsh’ for regulation of the affairs (of the Universe) 10:3. 3) Allah (SWT) is the Owner of the ‘Arsh’ 17:42. 4) Allah (SWT) is the Fosterer of the ‘Arsh’ 9:129. 5) Angels go round ‘Arsh’. This indicates that ‘Arsh’ occupies space 39:7. 6) Eight (angels) will bear the ‘Arsh’ above them 40:7, 69:17. 7) ‘Arsh’ therefore appears to be a place and something representing central control. It may be the capital of the Universe from where all affairs are controlled and not the seat of Allah (SWT) because nothing can encompass Him as He encompasses everything 4:126.
7-55
Pray to your Fosterer humbly and secretly, He certainly does not like those who exceed the limits.
We should pray to Allah (SWT) being humble and not disrespectful, secretly i.e. not making it known to others, fearing that He has the power to refuse and hoping that He only has the power to grant us that which we ask from Him.
7-57
And He it is Who sends the winds as bearers of good news before His mercy, until when they bring up a heavy cloud, (then) We drive it to a dead land, then We send down through it water, then We bring out through it fruits of every kind. Thus We bring out the dead. Perhaps you will be mindful.
Allah (SWT) will raise the dead as He brings out vegetation from a dead land through rain water. People who had done good in the land before their death will rise with good rewards as their fruits.
