25-20
And We had not sent any messengers before you, but they ate food and walked in the markets. And We have made some of you a trial for others. Will you (bear with) patience? And your Fosterer is Seeing. (R 2, P 18)
All messengers ate food and moved in the markets so Prophet Muhammed (PBH) is no exception to it. (Vs 7 above). People are tried through each other therefore the pious should express patience.
25-21
And those who do not hope to meet Us say, “”Why have not angels been sent down on us or (why) do we not see our Fosterer?”” They are indeed proud of themselves and they revolted with a great revolt.
Angels will be seen on the day of judgment and there will be bad news for the criminals and it will be good for the inhabitants of paradise.
25-25
And on that day the sky will be split with the clouds (coverings) and the angels will be sent down, descending.
The condition of the people on the day of judgment is described.
25-30
And the messenger says, “”O my Fosterer! my people have certainly taken this Quran as a forsaken thing.””
Prophet Muhammed (PBH) will complain to Allah (SWT) that his people had forsaken the Quran i.e. not implemented it in their lives.
25-31
And thus did We make for every prophet, an enemy from among the criminals, and your Fosterer is sufficient as a Guide and a Helper.
Its human nature that one puts in more effort if there is resistance.
25-32
And those who do not believe say, “”Why has not the whole Quran been sent down on him all at once?”” Thus (We have not sent it down all at once) that We may make your heart firm through it, and (therefore) We have caused the Quran to be recited to you gradually (in portions, after) intervals {1}.
Refer to Note No.1 ‘Explanatory Notes’.
In verse 15 of Chapter 5 of the Quran and elsewhere, the Quran is stated to be light (noor). Scientifically it has been established that light exerts pressure. In the following verse of the Quran it is stated:
“Had We sent down this Quran on a mountain you would have seen it fallen down splitting asunder due to the fear of Allah”. (Chapter: 59 Verse 21)
It is reported that when portions of the Quran were sent down on the messenger of Allah while on the camel back, the camel used to sit down due to the load. the messenger of Allah himself used to perspire. (Seerat -un-Nabi by Syed Sulaiman Nadvi, 1928, Vol 3. P. 302-303). It was probably due to this reason that the whole Quran was not communicated all at once. It would probably not be possible for a human heart to bear the pressure which could crush a mountain. The first portion of the Quran consisted of only five verses (96; 1-5), then the second installment (Chapter: 74) was communicated after a long interval, the whole Quran being communicated in small portions, in a span of twenty-three years, probably to dissipate the tremendous pressure inherent in it.
25-34
Those who will be gathered towards hell on their faces, those will be in an evil place and away from the way. (R 3)
The inmates of hell will be in an evil place.
25-35
And We gave the book to Musa and We made his brother Harun responsible with him.
Destruction of communities which denied their messengers is described.
