An-Naml (The Ant)

27-40


One who had knowledge of the book* said, “”I will bring it to you before the blinking of your eye.”” So when he saw it settled in his presence, he said, “”This is (something) from the grace of my Fosterer to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful, and one who is grateful, then his being grateful is only for (the benefit of) his own soul and one who is ungrateful, then my Fosterer is certainly Independent, Honorable.”” [* Law of teletransportation]

قَالَ الَّذِي عِنْدَهُ عِلْمٌ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ مُسْتَقِرًّا عِنْدَهُ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِنْ فَضْلِ رَبِّي لِيَبْلُوَنِي أَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ ۖ وَمَنْ شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِ ۖ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّي غَنِيٌّ كَرِيمٌ
“Same to Verse No.15”

27-41


He said, “”Make her throne unrecognizable for her, we will see whether she is capable of receiving guidance or she is of those who are not capable of receiving guidance.””

قَالَ نَكِّرُوا لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنْظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِي أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ الَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ
“Same to Verse No.15”

27-42


So when she came, it was said to her, “”Is your throne like this?”” She said, “”It is just like it and we were given the knowledge before it and we have submitted (as Muslims).””

فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَٰكَذَا عَرْشُكِ ۖ قَالَتْ كَأَنَّهُ هُوَ ۚ وَأُوتِينَا الْعِلْمَ مِنْ قَبْلِهَا وَكُنَّا مُسْلِمِينَ
“Same to Verse No.15”

27-43


And that which she worshipped besides Allah, had hindered her (earlier), she was certainly of the people who were infidels.

وَصَدَّهَا مَا كَانَتْ تَعْبُدُ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ مِنْ قَوْمٍ كَافِرِينَ
“Same to Verse No.15”

27-44


It was said to her, “”Enter the palace.”” So when she saw it, she thought it to be an expanse of water and removed (the covering) from her ankles (to cross it). He (Sulaiman) said, “”It is a palace made smooth with glass.”” She said, “”My Fosterer! I have been unjust to myself and I submit with Sulaiman to Allah, the Fosterer of the worlds.”” (R 3)

قِيلَ لَهَا ادْخُلِي الصَّرْحَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَأَتْهُ حَسِبَتْهُ لُجَّةً وَكَشَفَتْ عَنْ سَاقَيْهَا ۚ قَالَ إِنَّهُ صَرْحٌ مُمَرَّدٌ مِنْ قَوَارِيرَ ۗ قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي وَأَسْلَمْتُ مَعَ سُلَيْمَانَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
“Same to Verse No.15”

27-45


And We indeed sent to Samood their brother Saleh, (saying) that, “”Serve Allah,”” when they became two parties disputing (with each other).

وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمْ فَرِيقَانِ يَخْتَصِمُونَ

27-46


He said, “”O my people! why do you seek to hasten on the evil before the good, why do you not seek protective forgiveness of Allah that you may be dealt with mercifully?””

قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَسَنَةِ ۖ لَوْلَا تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
“Same to Verse No.45”

27-47


They said, “”We have met with ill luck because of you and because of those with you.”” He said, “”Your ill luck is with Allah, no, you are a people who are being tested.””

قَالُوا اطَّيَّرْنَا بِكَ وَبِمَنْ مَعَكَ ۚ قَالَ طَائِرُكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ۖ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ تُفْتَنُونَ
“Same to Verse No.45”

And there were nine persons in the city who caused corruption in the land and did not act right.

وَكَانَ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ تِسْعَةُ رَهْطٍ يُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
“Same to Verse No.45”

27-49


They said, “”Swear to each other by Allah that we will definitely attack him and his people by night, then we will definitely say to his heir: we did not witness the destruction of his people and we certainly speak the truth.””

قَالُوا تَقَاسَمُوا بِاللَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُ وَأَهْلَهُ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهِ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِ وَإِنَّا لَصَادِقُونَ
“Same to Verse No.45”

And they planned a plan and We (too) planned a plan while they did not perceive.

وَمَكَرُوا مَكْرًا وَمَكَرْنَا مَكْرًا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
“Same to Verse No.45”

27-51


Then see what was the end of their plan, We destroyed them and their people all together.

فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنَّا دَمَّرْنَاهُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
“Same to Verse No.45”

27-52


So those are their houses fallen down because they were unjust, there is certainly a sign in that for a people who know.

فَتِلْكَ بُيُوتُهُمْ خَاوِيَةً بِمَا ظَلَمُوا ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ
“Same to Verse No.45”

And We delivered those who believed and who had guarded (against evil).

وَأَنْجَيْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ
“Same to Verse No.45”

27-54


And (We sent) Lut, when he said to his people, “”Why do you commit indecency while approach men besides women? No, you are an ignorant people.””

وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ وَأَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ

27-55


What! do you indeed lustfully approach men besides women? No, you are an ignorant people?

أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِنْ دُونِ النِّسَاءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ
“Same to Verse No.54”

27-56


So the reply of his people was nothing but they said, “”Drive out Luts followers from your town, they are persons who want to be clean.””

فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوا آلَ لُوطٍ مِنْ قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ
“Same to Verse No.54”

So We delivered him and his followers except his wife, We destined her to be of those who remained behind.

فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَاهَا مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
“Same to Verse No.54”

27-58


And We rained on them a rain, so evil was the rain of those who were warned. (R 4)

وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَطَرًا ۖ فَسَاءَ مَطَرُ الْمُنْذَرِينَ
“Same to Verse No.54”

27-59


Say, “”Praise is due only for Allah, and peace on His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allah better or that which they associate as partners (with Him)? (P 19)

قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَسَلَامٌ عَلَىٰ عِبَادِهِ الَّذِينَ اصْطَفَىٰ ۗ آللَّهُ خَيْرٌ أَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Allah (SWT) mentions some of His Attributes and asks if there is anyone else who can do such works.
