possessor of power, established in the presence (of Allah) to Whom belongs the throne,
ذِي قُوَّةٍ عِنْدَ ذِي الْعَرْشِ مَكِينٍ

one to be obeyed, and with it trustworthy.
مُطَاعٍ ثَمَّ أَمِينٍ

And your companion (Muhammed) is not possessed by jinn.
وَمَا صَاحِبُكُمْ بِمَجْنُونٍ

And he (Muhammed) saw him (Jibreel) on the clear horizon.
وَلَقَدْ رَآهُ بِالْأُفُقِ الْمُبِينِ

And he is not a miser concealing (information) of the unseen.
وَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ بِضَنِينٍ

And it is not the word of the cursed devil.
وَمَا هُوَ بِقَوْلِ شَيْطَانٍ رَجِيمٍ

So in which direction are you all going?
فَأَيْنَ تَذْهَبُونَ

The (Quran) is nothing but a reminder to the worlds,
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ

for him among you who wills to be upright.
لِمَنْ شَاءَ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ يَسْتَقِيمَ

And you do not will unless Allah, the Fosterer of the worlds, wills. (R 1)
وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ
