Luqman (Luqman)

31-20

Did you not consider that Allah has subjected to your service that which is in the skies and that which is in the earth and has (showered) His favors on you excessively (both) externally and internally? And among mankind is he who disputes regarding Allah without knowledge and without guidance and without a book giving light.

أَلَمْ تَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ سَخَّرَ لَكُمْ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَأَسْبَغَ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعَمَهُ ظَاهِرَةً وَبَاطِنَةً ۗ وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يُجَادِلُ فِي اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَلَا هُدًى وَلَا كِتَابٍ مُنِيرٍ

31-21

And when it is said to them, “”Follow that which Allah has sent down,”” they say, “”No, we will follow that on which we found our fathers.”” What! even if the devil used to invite them to the punishment of blazing fire?

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّبِعُوا مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ قَالُوا بَلْ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهِ آبَاءَنَا ۚ أَوَلَوْ كَانَ الشَّيْطَانُ يَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ

Traditions of fore fathers against the Quran and Hadees should be given up.

31-22

And one who submits himself to Allah and he is the doer of good, then he has indeed caught hold of a strong handle for which there is no breaking off, and the (decision of) the consequences of affairs is Allah’s.

وَمَنْ يُسْلِمْ وَجْهَهُ إِلَى اللَّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقَىٰ ۗ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ عَاقِبَةُ الْأُمُورِ

Submitting, oneself to Allah (SWT) and doing good is the safest.

31-23

And one who does not believe, do not let his infidelity grieve you, to Us is their return, so We will inform them of that which they did. Allah is certainly the Knower of that which is in the bosoms.

وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَلَا يَحْزُنْكَ كُفْرُهُ ۚ إِلَيْنَا مَرْجِعُهُمْ فَنُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا عَمِلُوا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ

Allah (SWT) consoles prophet Muhammed (PBH) not to grieve over the infidels who enjoy a little but will be punished.

31-24

We will make them enjoy a little then We will drive them towards a harsh punishment.

نُمَتِّعُهُمْ قَلِيلًا ثُمَّ نَضْطَرُّهُمْ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ

“Same to Verse No.23”

31-25

And if you ask them, “”Who created the skies and the earth?”” They will definitely say, “”Allah.”” Say, “”Praise is due only for Allah, but the majority of them does not know.””

وَلَئِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ مَنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ ۚ قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ۚ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

Allah (SWT) mentions some of His Attributes, Powers and Knowledge of Himself and His creation.

31-26

Allah’s is whatever is in the skies and the earth. Allah is certainly the Independent, the Praised.

لِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْغَنِيُّ الْحَمِيدُ

“Same to Verse No.25”

31-27

And had all the trees that are in the earth been pens and the sea (were ink) with seven more seas added to it, (even then) the words of Allah would not be exhausted, Allah is certainly Mighty, Wise.

وَلَوْ أَنَّمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مِنْ شَجَرَةٍ أَقْلَامٌ وَالْبَحْرُ يَمُدُّهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ سَبْعَةُ أَبْحُرٍ مَا نَفِدَتْ كَلِمَاتُ اللَّهِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

“Same to Verse No.25”

31-28

Your creation and your raising is nothing but like (the creation and raising of) a single soul. Allah is certainly Hearing, Seeing.

مَا خَلْقُكُمْ وَلَا بَعْثُكُمْ إِلَّا كَنَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ بَصِيرٌ

“Same to Verse No.25”

31-29

Did you not consider that Allah makes the night to enter into the day and makes the day to enter into the night and He has compelled the sun and the moon (to follow His laws), each one moves till an appointed term, and that Allah is informed of what you do?

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ

“Same to Verse No.25”

31-30

That is because Allah is the Reality and that which they pray to besides Him, is falsehood; and that Allah is the High, the Great. (R 3)

ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ وَأَنَّ مَا يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ الْبَاطِلُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْكَبِيرُ

“Same to Verse No.25”

31-31

Did you not consider that the ships sail in the sea due to Allah’s favour, that He may show you (some) of His signs? Certainly, there are signs in that for every patient, grateful one.

أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّ الْفُلْكَ تَجْرِي فِي الْبَحْرِ بِنِعْمَتِ اللَّهِ لِيُرِيَكُمْ مِنْ آيَاتِهِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُورٍ

“Same to Verse No.25”

31-32

And when a wave covers them like overshadowing clouds, they pray to Allah, making religion exclusively for Him, but when He brings them safe to the land, then among them there are those who compromise (by not continuing to keep religion purely for Allah); and no one knowingly denies Our signs except every traitor, ungrateful one.

وَإِذَا غَشِيَهُمْ مَوْجٌ كَالظُّلَلِ دَعَوُا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّاهُمْ إِلَى الْبَرِّ فَمِنْهُمْ مُقْتَصِدٌ ۚ وَمَا يَجْحَدُ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَّا كُلُّ خَتَّارٍ كَفُورٍ

“Same to Verse No.25”

31-33

O mankind! be careful of your Fosterer and fear the day when a father will not be able to pay for the penalty on behalf of his son, and the son will not be able to pay for anything by way of penalty on behalf of his father. Allah’s promise is certainly true, so do not let the life of this world deceive you nor let the deceiver deceive you about Allah.

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَاخْشَوْا يَوْمًا لَا يَجْزِي وَالِدٌ عَنْ وَلَدِهِ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَنْ وَالِدِهِ شَيْئًا ۚ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ ۖ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُمْ بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُورُ

On the day of judgment except Allah (SWT) no one else will be able to help anyone although they had relationships in this world, therefore the life of this world should not deceive us.

31-34

The knowledge of the hour of doom is certainly with Allah. And He sends down the rain. And He knows that which is in the wombs. And no person knows what he will earn tomorrow (in future). And no person knows in what (part of) the earth he will die. Allah is certainly Knowing, Informed. (R 4)

إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْأَرْحَامِ ۖ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ مَاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا ۖ وَمَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ

Allah (SWT) gives a list of some items which He knows and others which no one knows except Him.
