Bani Israel had witnessed all the miracles performed through Musa (PBH) inspite of this they insisted that they would not believe in him till they saw Allah (SWT). They were therefore killed through a thunder – bolt and raised again probably to make them acknowledge this event as a miracle personally experienced by them and to be grateful to Allah (SWT) for bringing them back to life and giving them a chance to amend themselves.
