In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Our Prophet (PBH), through the very first revelation of the Quran, was ordered:
“Recite in the name of your Fosterer…” (Chapter 96: Verse 1) and the name of his and our Fosterer is Allah (SWT), as is evident from the very first verse of the first chapter of the Quran:
“Praise is due only for Allah (SWT), the Fosterer of the worlds”. (Chapter 1: Verse 1)
In view of this order of Allah (SWT), we should recite/read before starting the recitation or reading of the Holy Quran which is a part of the Quran, occurring at the beginning of 113 out of 114 chapters of the Quran and also as part of Chapter 27: Verse 30 of the Quran. Through Chapter 16: Verse 98, Allah Taala further orders:
“So when you recite/read the Quran, seek the protection of Allah from the accursed devil”.
This means that we are required to pray; (Aoozu Billahi min Ash shaitaanir Rajeem) meaning: “I seek the protection of Allah from the accursed devil”, even before reciting or reading: (Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem)

O you who believe! Do not take My enemy and your enemy as friends offering them love while they reject that which has come to you of the truth, driving out the messenger and you (just) because you believe in Allah your Fosterer. If you have come out for striving in My way and seeking My pleasure (why) do you offer them love in secret? And I know best that which you hide and that which you make public. And whoever from among you does that, then he has indeed gone astray from the balanced way.
The enemies of Allah (SWT) are not to be taken as friends, the reasons for this order are also given.
60-3
Your blood relatives and your children will not be of any benefit to you on the day of resurrection, He will decide between you, and Allah is the Seer of that which you do.
Relationships will not be of any use on the day of judgment.
60-4
There is indeed a good example for you to follow, in Ibrahim and those with him when they said to their people, “”We are free of you and that which you worship besides Allah, we do not believe with you, and enemity and hatred has become manifest between us and you for ever, unless you (too) believe in Allah Who is One,”” but for the word of Ibrahim to his father, “”I will definitely ask protective forgiveness for you though I do not control for you anything from Allah. Our Fosterer! in You do we put our trust and towards You do we turn and towards You is the destination.
Ibrahim (PBH) and his followers are good examples in their rejecting false gods and their prayers to Allah (SWT).
60-8
Allah does not forbid you, with regard to those who do not fight with you on account of (your) religion nor drive you out of your houses, (from) being kind to them and dealing justly with them, Allah certainly loves those who are just.
Allah (SWT) forbids friendship with those who act against Muslims and not with those who are good to them.

O you who believe! when believing immigrant women come to you then examine them, Allah knows best their belief, but if you (too) know them to be believers then do not return them to the infidels, they are not lawful for them nor the (infidels) are lawful for them and give the (infidels) that which they have spent (on them), and there is no sin on you to marry them when you give them their dowries. And do not retain the ties of marriage with the infidel women. And ask for (the return of) that which you have spent and let them ask for (the return of) that which they have spent, that is the judgment of Allah (with which) He judges between you and Allah is Knowing, Wise.
Instructions are given regarding examining believing women who migrated to Madina. Marriage ties are not to be retained with infidels.
60-13
O you who believe! do not make friendship with a people on whom is Allah’s anger, they are indeed in despair about the hereafter as the infidels are in despair about those who are in graves. (R 2, P 27 ½)
Friendship is not to be made with people with whom Allah (SWT) is angry.
