And when your Fosterer took out their descendants from the backs of the children of Adam* and made them bear witness against themselves (saying), “”Am I not your Fosterer?”” They said, “”Why not, we bear witness.”” (We took this testimony from you) lest you should say on the day of resurrection, “”We were unaware of this.”” [* Were they in the form of some specific genes of faith?]
We had accepted Allah (SWT) as our Fosterer long before we came into this world therefore we should not practice polytheism and put the blame on our forefathers knowing very well that everyone will be accountable for his or her beliefs and deeds. We do not remember this occasion, but memory is not the basis for something to be correct. We were all born but no one remembers his birth. Can we deny our birth on the basis of our memory? It is sufficient for any incidence to be true if it is mentioned in the Quran. Does the word ‘Zurriyyat’ translated as ‘descendents’ refer to some specific ‘Genes of faith’?
