Ships too follow the laws of Allah (SWT). By mentioning that ships are like mountains Allah (SWT) has revealed that as ships extend below the surface of water, mountains too extend below the surface of land. This fact was discovered comparatively recently and made known to people by stating that Mountains have roots.

O assembly of jinn and mankind! if you are able to pass through the boundaries (or spheres) of the skies and the earth, then pass through, you will not pass through except with authority.

Flames of fire (without smoke) and hot smoke (without flames) will be sent on you both, then you will not be able to defend.
