As-Saffat (Those Who Are in Ranks)
37-20
and say, “” Sorrowful is our state, this is the day of judgment.””
وَقَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
“Same to Verse No.13”

37-21
(It will be said,) “” This is the day of separation which used to be denied by you.”” (R 1)
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ

37-22
Gather those who were unjust and their mates (too), and that which they used to serve (worship)
احْشُرُوا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا وَأَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ

besides Allah, then lead them to the path of hell. (P 22 ¼)
مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ فَاهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطِ الْجَحِيمِ

And stop them for they will be questioned,
وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ مَسْئُولُونَ

“”What is the matter with you that you do not help each other?””
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ

No, they will seek submission on that day,
بَلْ هُمُ الْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ

and some of them will turn to others questioning each other,
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ

saying, “”You certainly used to come to us from the right (with full force to mislead us).””
قَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ الْيَمِينِ

(Others will) say, “”No, you (only) did not believe,
قَالُوا بَلْ لَمْ تَكُونُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ

and we had no authority on you, no, you were (yourselves)a rebellious people,
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ سُلْطَانٍ ۖ بَلْ كُنْتُمْ قَوْمًا طَاغِينَ

so the word of our Fosterer has proved true on us, we will certainly taste (the punishment),
فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَا ۖ إِنَّا لَذَائِقُونَ

we led you astray because we were ourselves astray.””
فَأَغْوَيْنَاكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَاوِينَ

So on that day they will be sharers in the punishment.
فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ

Thus do We deal with the criminals.
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ

When it was said to them, “”There is no god except Allah,”” they certainly used to consider themselves great (to accept this).
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ

And they say, “”Shall we give up our gods for the sake of a poet under the influence of the jinn?””
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُو آلِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍ مَجْنُونٍ

No, he has come with the truth and confirms the messengers (who had come before him).
بَلْ جَاءَ بِالْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ

You will certainly taste the painful punishment
إِنَّكُمْ لَذَائِقُو الْعَذَابِ الْأَلِيمِ

and you will not be rewarded except for that which you used to do,
وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
