List Of Sura's

Yousuf (Joseph)

0-1

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Our Prophet (PBH), through the very first revelation of the Quran, was ordered:
“Recite in the name of your Fosterer…” (Chapter 96: Verse 1) and the name of his and our Fosterer is Allah (SWT), as is evident from the very first verse of the first chapter of the Quran:
“Praise is due only for Allah (SWT), the Fosterer of the worlds”. (Chapter 1: Verse 1)
In view of this order of Allah (SWT), we should recite/read before starting the recitation or reading of the Holy Quran which is a part of the Quran, occurring at the beginning of 113 out of 114 chapters of the Quran and also as part of Chapter 27: Verse 30 of the Quran. Through Chapter 16: Verse 98, Allah Taala further orders:
“So when you recite/read the Quran, seek the protection of Allah from the accursed devil”.
This means that we are required to pray; (Aoozu Billahi min Ash shaitaanir Rajeem) meaning: “I seek the protection of Allah from the accursed devil”, even before reciting or reading: (Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem)

12-3

The history of Yousuf (PBH) the son of Yaqoob (PBH) and grandson of Ibrahim(PBH) is revealed to Prophet Muhammed (PBH) who was unaware of it.

12-4

Heavenly bodies associated with the sun and the moon are the 9 planets. In this verse, there appears to be a hint that there are eleven planets. It is said that the Asteroids between Mars and Jupiter are the fragments of two planets which had crashed. If this is correct, the number of planets would be eleven. Some Astronomers classify Chiron, a comet, as a planet: in which case if the Asteroids are considered as fragments of only one planet, then too the number of planets would be eleven. Nevertheless these heavenly bodies are symbols, the sun depicting the father, the moon mother and eleven planets 11 brothers 12:100. These heavenly bodies do not have heads like us, therefore their ‘Sajdah’ cannot be like that of ours. Here too the word ‘Sajdah’ appears to be symbolic meaning ‘Respectful submission.
Kawkab:

Heavenly bodies closely associated with the sun and the moon are planets, therefore the word Kawkab has been translated as planets.

12-5

A dream should not be narrated before an enemy because the devil may instigate the enemy to plot against the good message given through a dream.

12-6

Allah (SWT) teaches interpretation of dreams (or events)

12-7

In the history of Yusuf (PBH) and his brothers there are many lessons as we shall see.

12-8

When they said, “”Yusuf and his brother are dearer to our father than we are, though we are a strong group. Our father is certainly in clear error.

Just because Yaquub (PBH) loved Yusuf (PBH) and his own brother more than the step – brothers, they planned to kill him but ultimately left him in a well. Parents should therefore exhibit equal love for all their children. Among the children of a Prophet (Yaquub PBH) there were two good and ten bad persons who stained the shirt of Yusuf (PBH) with false blood to produce circumstantial evidence of his death but Yaquub (PBH) exhibited patience.

12-9

Kill Yusuf or cast him away in some (other) land, then the attention of your father will be exclusively for you, and after that you become righteous people.””

“Same to Verse No.8”

12-10

A speaker from among them said, “”Do not kill Yusuf but put him in a deep well if you have (decided) to do (something to get rid of him, so that) some caravan may pick him up.””

“Same to Verse No.8”

12-11

They said, “”O our father! what reason have you that you do not trust us with (respect to) Yusuf, when we are his sincere well wishers?

“Same to Verse No.8”

12-12

Send him with us tomorrow that he may enjoy himself and play and we will be his protectors.””

12-14

They said, “”(How) would the wolf eat him when we are a strong group? Then we would certainly be losers.””

“Same to Verse No.8”

12-15

So when they went away with him and collectively decided that they will put him in a deep well, then We communicated to him that you will definitely inform them of this affair of theirs while they do not perceive.

“Same to Verse No.8”

12-16

And they came to their father at night fall, weeping.

12-18

And they came with false blood on his shirt. He said, “”No! your souls have induced this affair for you, so patience is good, and it is Allah Whose help is sought for against that which you describe.””

“Same to Verse No.8”

12-19

And a caravan came there, and they sent their water drawer and he let down his bucket (and) said, “”O good news! here is a youth,”” and they hid him as an item of merchandise and Allah knew what they did.

A caravan picked him up and sold him to an Egyptian. A Prophet (PBH) was sold as a slave.
