List Of Sura's

Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

2-240

And those who die from among you and leave (behind them) wives, should make a bequest in favour of their wives (for their) maintenance for one year without turning them out (from their houses). But if (they themselves) go away, there is no sin on you in what they do of themselves in a recognised (good manner), and Allah is Mighty, Wise.

“Instructions are given regarding the maintenance of widows and the divorced women. Allah (SWT) thus makes everything clear for human beings to understand with the intention of implementing the instructions.”

2-241

And for the divorced women, (some) provision recognised (to be good should be made), a duty (incumbent) upon those who guard (against evil).

“various incidences are cited in connection with the interpretation of Verse 243 and there is no unanimity. It appears that fearing death i.e. to avoid death (whatever could have been the dreaded cause, disease, war etc.) thousands of people of a particular community had left their houses. Allah (SWT) wanted to demonstrate to them that it is only by His order that people die and not due to the apparent causes like disease, war etc. therefore He ordered them to die and then brought them back to life. Allah (SWT) is Gracious to human beings in teaching them lessons through such events but most of them do not acknowledge this. With this firm belief that life and death are in the hands of Allah (SWT) and no one or nothing else, believers are ordered to fight in His way to establish a kingdom based on His laws. Fighting for such a cause needs effort as well as money, it is therefore classified that the efforts and money spent on this cause will be multiplied and returned to them. People may restrain from spending due to the fear of poverty therefore it is further clarified that it is again Allah (SWT) who makes whomever He will rich or poor. if one does not spend for His cause, he may lose money in some other way.”

Did you not consider the leaders from among the children of Israel after Musa, when they said to their prophet, “”Raise for us a king (commander) that we may fight in the way of Allah.”” (The prophet) said, “”Is it not possible, that if fighting is prescribed on you, then you will not fight?”” They said, “”And what (reason) is there for us for not fighting in the way of Allah when we have been driven out of our homes with our children?”” But when fighting was prescribed upon them, they turned back except a few among them and Allah knows the unjust.

“The lessons we learn from this historic narration of Samuel (PBH) 11th Century B.C. is that for commanding an army one needs knowledge and physical strength and not wealth. Allah (SWT) gives authority to whom He pleases. It is reported that the box contained the original Torah, wooden staff of Musa (PBH) and some personal belonging of Haruun (PBH) The original Torah was definitely a source of peace for Bani Israel which they had lost and which was now returned to them. Sometimes the loyalty of the followers has to be tested and in this case, it was tested through a river. Permissible things are sometimes prohibited for conducting a test. In war patience and firmness are needed. The purpose of making pious people to wage wars against the wrong doers is to check corruption. If no one rises against evil then the earth would be full of corruption, therefore such conflicts should be considered as the Grace of Allah (SWT). Dawood (PBH) who killed the leader of the opponents was a Prophet whose son Sulaiman (PBH) was also a prophet. These are facts of history which Allah (SWT) informs us through prophet Muhammed (PBH) who was certainly one of His messengers. “

2-247

And their prophet said to them, “”Allah has certainly raised Talut as your king.”” They said, “”How can he hold authority over us when we deserve the authority more than him and he has not (even) been given abundance of wealth?”” (The prophet) said, “”Allah has certainly chosen him above you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and physique and Allah grants His authority to whom He wills and Allah is Ample-giving, Knowing.””

2-248

And their prophet said to them, “”The sign of his authority is that there will certainly come to you the ark (a box) in it there will be (a source of) peace from your Fosterer and relics from that which the family of Musa and family of Harun left behind, the angels will bear it, in that there is certainly a sign for you if you are believers.”” (R 32)

So when Talut departed with the forces, he said, “”Allah will certainly test you through a river, so whoever drinks from it then he is not of me and whoever does not taste of it, then certainly he is of me, except he who takes in the hollow of his hand,”” but they drank from it except a few of them. Then when he had crossed (the river) with those who believed with him, they said, “”Today we do not have power against Jalut and his forces.”” Those who expected that they would meet Allah, said, “”How often has a small party over come a party consisting of many people by the order of Allah, and Allah is with those who are patient.””

“Allah (SWT) has made some of His messengers excel others in various ways. Had He willed people would not have fought among themselves but He does whatever He intends.”

“He it is Who distributes wealth among human beings as He wills consequently He has the right to lay down rules regarding spending it in their life time. If the wealth given by Him is not spent in accordance with His instructions here in this world, then it will be of no use in the hereafter and it could become a source of punishment.”

2-255

Allah, there is no god except Him, the Living, the Eternally Existing; neither slumber takes hold of Him nor sleep; whatever is in the skies and whatever is in the earth is His. Who is there who can recommend to Him except by His permission? He knows that which is before them and that which is behind them, and they cannot encompass anything from His knowledge except that which He wills (to impart); His Chair (power, jurisdiction) extends over the skies and the earth and it does not tire Him to preserve (monitor) them both, and He is the High, the Great.

“We too exist but we die, we too are conscious but we need rest and sleep. Contrary to this Allah (SWT) exists eternally and He does not require rest or sleep. Everything belongs to Him not to us, things are given in our custody just to test us. No one can recommend without His permission. He knows everything and we know only that which He wants us to know. His power and control extend over all His creation and He does not get tired of monitoring everything He created. He is the Highest and the Greatest.”

2-256

“One should not be compelled to follow Islam, one should do good willingly 2:184. Right and wrong have been made clear, so one who chooses to believe in Allah (SWT) has caught the strongest handle which does not break. Allah (SWT) hears and knows everything. He becomes the Guardian of those who decide to believe in Him and He leads them out from the darkness of ignorance towards the light of Islam. Contrary to this the guardians of those who are infidels are opponents of Islam who lead them away from the light of Islam towards the darkness of infidelity and thus land them in hell to stay therein.”

Did you not consider him who argued with Ibrahim about his Fosterer because Allah had given him the kingdom? When Ibrahim said, “”My Fosterer is He Who gives life and causes death.”” He said, “”I give life and cause to die.”” Ibrahim said, “”Then certainly Allah causes the sun to rise from the east, so you cause it to rise from the west.”” Thus, he who did not believe was confused. And Allah does not guide a people who are unjust.

“The argument of Ibrahim (PBH) with the king suggests that we too should try to prove the existence of Allah (SWT) through intellectual arguments.”

2-259

Or (did you not consider one) like him who passed over a town which had fallen down on its roofs, he said, “”How will this be brought (back) to life by Allah after its death?”” So Allah caused him to remain in a state of death for hundred years then raised him (to life). (Allah) asked, “”How long did you stay (in the state of death)?”” He replied, “”I stayed for a day or part of a day.”” He said, “”No! you stayed for a hundred years, so look at your food and your drink, years did not pass over it, and look at your ass, and (We did all this), that We may make you a sign for the human beings, and look at the bones how We set them together then clothe them with flesh.”” So when it became clear to him, he said, “”I know that Allah has power over everything.

“There is again a controversy about the person who had passed by the ruined town and of time will be a common experience 20:104, 23:113. This means that our resurrection is as far in time as our death because of this unconsciousness of time. The food and drink of the person did not show signs of decay, our deep freezes and cold storage systems should not make us wonder at this, the only difference is that Allah (SWT) can preserve things without means like cold storage, refrigerators etc. then finally the resurrection of his ass was demonstrated. This person who thus became a proof of life after death realized that Allah (SWT) has power over everything. the name of the town itself. He wondered how the dead would be raised to life. To demonstrate the process Allah (SWT) kept him deed for 100 years then brought him back to life but the person thought that he was in the state of death for a day or part of a day. This proves that during the state of death human beings lose consciousness of time just as in sleep. This unconsciousness”
