2-208
O you who believe! enter into Islam completely (with total submission) and do not follow the footsteps of the devil, he is certainly an open enemy for you.
“Allah (SWT) likes the 4th category of human beings described in Verse. No. 207, consequently He orders all the believers to enter Islam completely not partially and this can be done by not following the devil, their open enemy. Inspite of the Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammed (PBH) if someone slips from the straight path leading to paradise then he should know that Allah (SWT) is Mighty to punish him and wise to catch them for this purpose even if they hide their internal state of mind as in case No. 3 Verses. Nos. 204 – 206. The sinners appear to be waiting for the ‘Day of Judgment’ when Allah (SWT) will come along with the angels (who will have the complete record of human deeds) and the affair of all human beings will be decided because all affairs are referred to Allah (SWT) only, for His decision.”
2-211
Ask the children of Israel, how many clear signs did We give them, and (for) one who changes the favour of Allah after it has come to him, Allah is certainly severe in requiting (evil).
“The children of Israel are being reminded of the clear signs sent to them probably in the form of miracles performed through Musa (PBH) and the Torah, a favour from Allah (SWT) which they altered and for which they will be punished severely.”
2-212
The life of the world is made glamorous for those who do not believe, and they make a jest of those who believe, but those who guard (against evil) will be above the (infidels) on the day of resurrection. And Allah provides without measure to whom he wills.
“Getting influenced and attracted by worldly glamour is one of the many qualities of the infidels, who look down upon the believers probably due to their disinterest in worldly glamour but on the day of resurrection the believers will be above them. No one should feel proud about his worldly possessions or consider them to be his personal achievement because it is Allah (SWT) who provides immeasurable abundance of whatever He wills to whom ever He wills and whenever He wills both in this world and in the hereafter.”
2-213
Human beings were a single community, then Allah sent prophets as conveyers of good news and as warners and sent down with them the book containing the truth, so that it may (serve as a source of) judgment between human beings in (matters) in which they differed. And none differed there in except those who were given (the book containing prescribed laws), after (receiving) the clear proofs which had come to them, (and this they did) due to mutual envy. So Allah by His will, guided those who believed, in those (matters in) which they had differed from the truth. And Allah guides whom He wills towards the straight path.
“All human beings are the great grand children of Adam and Hawwa (PBT) in which sense they form a single community. As the population increased Allah (SWT) sent Prophets with Divine laws for judgment of affairs in which human beings had difference of opinion. This difference of opinion persisted even after receiving the Divine Laws, just because of mutual rivalry, therefore Allah (SWT) guided towards the truth only those who believed in the Divine revelation. Allah (SWT) guides towards the straight path leading to paradise whomever He will. Like provision, no one has any control on guidance too.”
2-214
Do you think that you will enter the garden while there has not yet come upon you the like of (that which came upon) those who passed away before you? Distress and harm befell them and they were shaken to the extent that the messenger and those who believed with him said, “”When will Allahs help come?”” Beware! Allah’s help is near.
“Entering paradise is a very tough job. No one can enter it unless he is successful in the test conducted by Allah (SWT) to select those whose deeds are good 67:2. This test was conducted for out predecessor too, on account of which distress and harm afflicted them to such an extent that they were shaken and they along with the messenger of Allah (SWT) prayed to Allah (SWT) for help which is always near.”
2-215
They ask you what they should spend, say, “”Whatever you spend of good, is then for the parents and the relatives and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, and whatever of good you do, Allah certainly has knowledge of it.””
“The first priority, while spending, should be given to parents then to relatives, orphans, poor, wayfarer etc. Allah (SWT) knows whatever good one does.”
2-216
Fighting is prescribed for you and it is (a matter of) dislike for you. And it is possible that you dislike a thing while it is good for you and it is possible that you love a thing while it is bad for you. And Allah knows and you do not know. (R 26)
“Fighting is a tough thing and is normally not liked by people because of the risk of getting wounded or being killed. But fighting in the way of Allah is good from the point of view of reward. Because of lack of knowledge it is possible that we may dislike a good thing and like a bad thing. The fact is that Allah (SWT) knows and we do not know, therefore the best attitude is to obey Him in everything. Turning people away from the path of Allah (SWT), from the Sacred Mosque, expelling them from it and infidelity are greater sins than fighting during the sacred months. Persecution is a greater sin than slaughter because in slaughter a person dies and the matter ends while in persecution his whole life becomes continuously miserable. The effort of the infidels is to turn away Muslims from Islam by whatever means they can adopt but whoever turns away from Islam and dies as an infidel, then whatever good he had done while a Muslim will become fruitless and he will be punished in the fire, wherein he will stay Contrary to this those who had believed and migrated from Makkah and struggled in the path of Allah (SWT) to establish His religion – Islam, these are the persons who have the right to hope for the mercy of Allah (SWT) in the form of paradise and safety from hell because He forgives sins and is Merciful.”
2-219
They ask you about intoxicants and games of chance, say, “”In both is great sin and profit for human beings, but the sin in both, is greater than the profit in both.”” And they ask you what they should spend, say, “”The surplus.”” Thus Allah makes clear for you the signs that you may reflect,
“In intoxicants and games of chance there is little gain and more of loss: Intoxicants effect the nervous system, cause Cirrhosis of liver, disturb personal, family and social life. Games of chance give rise to the urge of winning over the money of our friends, the excitement leads to heart diseases and loses have sometimes made people penniless. Charity should be given from money left after one’s essential expenditure. Through these statements in the Quran, people are invited to reflect on the consequences of certain deeds in this world and the associated reward or punishment after death.”
